Beschrijving van de asme-elliptieke schotel
Het elliptische uiteinde (of genoemd elliptisch hoofd) dat bestaat uit twee delen: een roterende elliptische bol en een cilindrische rechte sectie.
Als een elliptische schotel is gefabriceerd om een bepaalde vorm te hebben in plaats van een bepaalde schotel of knokkel.De schijfstraal is ongeveer 90% van de diameter en de knokkelstraal is ongeveer 17% van de diameter. 2:1 elliptische flenseerde en platte uiteinden voldoen aan ASME.
